“Super Foods” becoming “Super Trends”

Drink mix from Walmart with “Super Food” flavors

Just another example of the “superfood” and exotic food trend being taken TOO far. This Great Value (walmart’s store brand) drink mix is Acai and Mangosteen flavored. I am pretty well traveled, and familiar with alot of foods… But even I had to look up what a “Mangosteen” was to remember it(a fruit that is a pain to open and a mess to eat). I doubt the typical shopper is familiar with this fruit or it’s flavor… And I somehow doubt that there are any health benefits from the Acai in this drink mix.

Oh… And this exotic titled flavor tasted just like purple Cool Aid (not that this is a bad thing)….I love marketing.
