Sushi, ALWAYS a Best Bite

Sushi…glorious sushi.

Not only does it taste amazing, but the presentation of a plate full of sushi is a true piece of art.

A table full of sushi = guaranteed good time

Then there are the other points sushi gets for being:

* Healthy (assuming you are not getting some sort of deep-fried-mayo-roll)

*Classy (you know asking a girl out to get sushi shows a lot more taste than asking her out to Cracker Barrel)

*Communal (sharing food brings you closer togather…or it DESTROYS all relationships as you compete for the last piece)

*Variable (depending on the day or time of year: the same place can serve different rolls or quality  of fish which keeps everything fresh and interesting)

*Reliable (even when it’s bad…it’s still good)

The Fed Up team is proud to present this week’s Best Bite: The Fed Up Roll. (Of course we are going to name our sushi creation after ourselves)

The Fed Up Roll in all its glory! A tasty roll that is light and combines some great flavors. Feel free to modify the roll to your personal tastes though. Spicy tuna would be a nice addition, and many people perfer white rice over the stronger tasting brown variety.

So this week’s Best Bite is the custom-made Fed Up Roll we ordered from one of our favorite sushi places in New Orleans; Sake Cafe Uptown. We asked the sushi chef to prepare this amazingly tasty roll that I highly recommend you encourage your neighborhood sushi joint to try out.

Fed Up Roll

Inside: salmon, crab stick, boiled shrimp, lots of cucumber, yellow tail and a little brown rice.

soy wrap

On Top: seared tuna, mango, black/red tobiko roe, green onions, a little bit of eel sauce

The Fed Up team has created some other sushi rolls and combos that are even tastier and are almost ALWAYS requested at dinner. But this week, the Fed Up Roll just hit the spot and made a stressful work day end with a restful evening. The Fed Up Roll is just a nice combo that feels lights and refreshing and really lets you savor the quality of each ingredient.

So get your own Best Bite this week…you can never go wrong with sushi.

A cleared table means one thing; everyone else thought that this was one of their Best Bites of the week too.

If this is so good just wait til Thanksgiving. Honing my sushi skills now.

I bet a ‘Grandmother Roll’ would be very impressive!

And after reading your comment I started thinking about making some sort if sushi-thanksgiving hybrid… I have already had great success with my ‘Thanksgiving pizza’; so Thanksgiving Sushi seems like it could work too.

I really DONT think there is anything wrong with ‘second-lunch.’

[…] A perfect example would be the sushi scene. In Las Vegas I experienced food-nirvana at Sushi Samba; a brilliant restaurant that perfectly pairs Japanese with Peruvian and Brazilian cuisine to make some impressive dishes. But then at San Antonio’s Sushi Zushi, I was bothered by a menu that took Tex-Mex ingredients and crammed them into seaweed and rice…to me, adding beans and cheese to rice and wrapping it up is called a burrito, NOT sushi… and it is not something I want to eat alongside premium cuts of raw fish.
