Marketing Meat

This is a confusing sight…

Fed Up Food counter

Something just seems wrong with a butcher counter that has a ‘100% Vegetarian Diet’ sign posted on it.

As I walked past the BUTCHER section of my local Whole Foods I spotted a giant ‘100% Vegetarian’ sign on the counter and had to see what sort of meat-free option was being sold alongside bloody steaks and raw chicken kabobs. Was there some sort of new meatless cow on the market? Has bacon become universally exempt from the rigid vegetarian restrictions because of how impossible it is to resist?!

Nope.

Only genuine meat was being sold from this counter to feed hungry carnivores.

Some dumbass at Whole Foods needs to stop dwelling on the pros of organic toilet paper and  the necessity for ethically harvested goji berries; and instead focus on proper sign placement.

I wonder how many poor vegetarians were sadly disappointed/confused/frustrated by this stupid sign…

Maybe the sign meant, “The animals sold here had a 100% vegetarian diet”? I doubt it… more likely just an idiotic sign. 😦

Yeah that’s what they meant. The animals were fed a vegetarian diet. You would be surprised how terrible some meat rearers can be, feeding bits of other animals to animals to keep costs down. I am pretty sure the average joe walking though this Whole Foods was not thinking about ‘vegetarian animals’ after seeing the sign… But I did not realize they fed animals to animals. Wow. thanks for sharing.

I suddenly realized I had not seen any posts from one of my favorite food bloggers. So I wondered what happened. Now I see that the last posts were in May so that must explain it.
